Premier Foods is targeting school lunch breaks with a range of tailored single serve dessert products developed for the education sector, under its Hartley’s and Ambrosia brands.
The new range has been developed to meet strict education sector requirements, artificial colours and preservatives have been removed. The range consists of eight products: Hartley’s Ready to Eat Strawberry Jelly, Orange Jelly and Low Sugar Raspberry Jelly, Ambrosia Devon Custard Pot, Low Fat Devon Custard Pot, Creamed Rice Pot, Low Fat Rice Pot and Chocolate Custard Pot.
Rachael Bouch, Foodservice Marketing Controller, comments: “The typical school lunch break is only around 30 minutes and we’ve already seen a clamp down on products such as crisps and confectionery under the new nutrition standards brought in for school meals in the wake of the Jamie Oliver campaign.
“We believe our range of pot desserts offers a good balance between health, taste and convenience. They will help schools to meet the new regulations whilst appealing to children and their parents who already enjoy and trust the Ambrosia and Hartley’s brands.”
The Hartley’s and Ambrosia pots are incredibly convenient and ideal for snacking whether served over the counter at breakfast or lunchtime, as part of a meal deal or in a vending machine with a spoon attached.
As ambient products, Premier Foods’ pot desserts are ideal for the education sector, as there is no need for expensive chilled space and no wastage.
All products in the range come in cases of 12 x 150g pots, are suitable for vegetarians except Hartley’s RTE Orange Jelly and Hartley’s RTE Low Sugar Raspberry, all contain no artificial colours or preservatives and all are gluten free.
